Did you know ? These discomforts are related to the atrophy of the labia majora and the loss of tonicity, elasticity, and hydration of the mucous membranes.

Indeed, the labia majora have 3 important protective functions :

1. Protective closure to vaginal entrance to preserve natural moisture


2. Shock absorber to protect the mucous membranes from friction or shock (jeans, saddle, bicycle saddle, etc)


3. Wrapping around the clitoris to increase sexual pleasure

Treatment

Care for women suffering from discomfort and/or aesthetic uneasiness is based on two main treatments: hyaluronic acid which helps to fill the labia majora and moisturize the mucous membranes; and the laser which restores the elasticity and trophicity of the vulvar and vaginal mucosa. This laser has also shown extremely interesting results in the treatment of a disabling disease of the mucous membranes called lichen sclerosus.

A consultation with our medical specialist, Dr. Marie Nichanian, is necessary in order to evaluate what treatment you will be offered. Sometimes the combination of both is the best option to regain your well-being. And at other times, the laser or hyaluronic acid on its own is sufficient.

These treatments are all carried out by Dr. Marie Nichanian: you are comfortably sitting in a gynaecological chair, in a quiet and discreet environment. None of the treatments are painful.

Mona Lisa Touch

The Mona Lisa Touch laser is a next-generation device that has recently revolutionized women's intimate comfort

3 laser sessions are to be scheduled, each one month apart. Each session lasts about 15 minutes.
This treatment is nearly painless (mild warming sensation). One should allow for a few days without sexual intercourse, but daily activities as well as sports and water activities can be resumed immediately.

To possibly be renewed once a year.

Vaginal mesotherapy

Vaginal mesotherapy consists of applying a hyaluronic acid gel specially formulated for the intimate area, through a diffuse distribution on the posterior wall of the vagina. For pain-free treatment, an anesthetic gel is applied 30 minutes before the session.

Although this procedure is very fast, it is necessary to take an hour for the treatment, including applying the anesthetic gel. Treatment to be applied twice a year.

Hyaluronic acid

The filling of the labia majora is done by injecting a hyaluronic acid gel, its texture being specially adapted to this area. It is necessary to schedule a session for the first injection, and sometimes a second session is necessary after 1 month for optimal results.

The session lasts about 45 minutes and is done with a small dose of local anaesthesia at the injection site. It is overall very comfortable. Some discomfort may be felt due to friction or pressure for 2-3 days, while possible hematomas disappear within a week.

Most often, a maintenance session is scheduled every 18 months.

Result

The result can be observed from the very first session, and reaches its best after the last session. Wearing clothes is now more enjoyable, and physical contact with your partner during sexual intercourse provides more pleasure. If intercourse was painful before, there is often a spectacular improvement thanks to a better hydration of the mucous membrane, and also thanks to an improvement of the vaginal elasticity (in particular with the Mona Lisa laser). Other symptoms, such as urine leakage, repetitive infections, or mucous membrane diseases (lichen sclerosus) tend to disappear during the first few sessions.
