What is localized liposuction?
Localized liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that permanently removes fat cells from a specific, limited area.
It’s important to emphasize from the outset that this is not about slimming. It’s about contouring. The aim is not to lose weight, but to redefine an area and restore balance to the silhouette.
It most often concerns :
- Belly and hips.
- Saddlebags and inner thighs.
- Back and arms.
- Double chin and jowls.
Who is this intervention for?
Localized liposuction is intended for people who are close to their ideal weight, but who find that fatty deposits persist and are resistant to diet and exercise.
Both men and women can undergo the procedure. As with any surgical procedure, the indication is evaluated medically: skin quality and elasticity are among the criteria examined during the consultation.
A personalized consultation will check the feasibility of your project. (in italics, and you can add the link to your contact page)
Localized liposuction or classic liposuction?
The technical principle is identical; it’s the scale that differs.
Conventional liposuction treats several areas and larger volumes, under general anesthesia and with hospitalization.
Localized liposuction concentrates on a single area, for a reduced volume: local anesthesia, outpatient procedure and lighter aftercare.

How does localized liposuction work at Matignon?
The intervention is based on a short, targeted and personalized protocol, organized in three stages.
1. Medical analysis
During the consultation, the surgeon analyzes the areas of localized fat, skin quality and skin elasticity to validate the indication.
2. The targeted procedure
Fat is extracted using fine cannulas, introduced through almost invisible micro-incisions. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, adapted to the area being treated. On average, it lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
3. Recovery
The operation is ambulatory: you can return home the same day. The precision of the procedure means that you can return to work quickly, with personalized post-operative follow-up.
