“Without social exclusion”—what does that mean?

“Social downtime” refers to situations where a treatment requires a period of recovery—the time it takes for redness, swelling, or marks to fade. “No social downtime” therefore refers to treatments after which you can resume your activities immediately, or almost immediately.

Let’s be honest: “no bruising” doesn’t mean “absolutely no marks.” A slight redness or a small, isolated bruise is still possible, depending on the person. The important point is that these don’t justify staying home.

Approaches that are suitable for this purpose.

Deep Hydration and Biostimulation.

Certain injectable treatments based on hyaluronic acid—such as skin boosters or biostimulation products—are designed to deeply hydrate the skin and support skin health.

These are medical procedures, evaluated on a case-by-case basis, with generally subtle results.

Radiofrequency.

Technologies such as Thermage® FLX stimulate collagen production through heat, without injections or surgery, and without disrupting your social life. It’s a gradual process: the results develop over the following weeks.

In any case, the indication, appropriateness, and course of these treatments are subject to a prior medical evaluation.

The key points: sun exposure and treatments.

That’s the real hot topic of the summer.

Certain treatments are not compatible with significant sun exposure. This is particularly true of laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments, which can make the skin more sensitive to the sun. These treatments are generally not recommended immediately before or during a period of sun exposure.

Conversely, hydrating treatments and radiofrequency are better suited to this time of year, provided you protect your skin: after an injectable treatment, it is recommended that you avoid intense heat and direct sunlight for one to two days, and apply a high-SPF sunscreen daily. These recommendations are explained in detail during your consultation.

Can you undergo cosmetic procedures in the summer?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions as the warmer months approach.

Contrary to popular belief, summer doesn’t rule out cosmetic procedures: it all depends on the treatment chosen and the expected sun exposure.

Non-photosensitizing treatments such as deep hydration, hyaluronic acid biostimulation, and radiofrequency can still be performed without requiring time off from social activities, whereas laser treatments, IPL, or chemical peels are generally best postponed until a less sunny season.

The rule remains the same year-round: a medical evaluation determines the treatment best suited to your skin, your goals, and your summer lifestyle.

What about the Matignon approach?

At Matignon, each treatment is part of a comprehensive, three-pronged approach—rejuvenation, biostimulation, and injections—designed to support the skin over the long term, rather than as a one-time procedure.

The choice of treatment, its suitability, and how well it fits with your summer lifestyle are determined during a personalized consultation that takes your skin and habits into account.
