Objective

Refining the figure or face by removing localized excess fat.

Liposuction, also known as liposuction, is a surgical procedure that reshapes the figure by permanently eliminating fatty deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise.

It can target areas such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, arms, back or chin.

Results

A refined, harmonious and sustainably reshaped silhouette.

For whom can this treatment make a difference?

Liposuction is indicated for women and men with areas of localized fat that are resistant to conventional slimming methods.

It is not a weight-loss solution, but a body-sculpting technique.

It is ideal for:

– Slimming the waist, hips or abdomen.

– Reshaping thighs or knees.

– Removing a double chin.

– Regaining a toned figure after weight loss.

Hospitalization

The procedure is generally performed on an outpatient basis, with no overnight hospital stay.

Anaesthesia

Depending on the extent of the areas to be treated: local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.

Stopping time

A few days’ to a week’s social exclusion is required, depending on the areas treated.

Bruising and swelling are common, and a compression garment is prescribed to support recovery.

Back to sport

Gentle sport after 2 weeks, full recovery after approx. 4-6 weeks.

Sun exposure

Treated areas must be protected from the sun for at least 6 weeks. The use of sunscreen is strongly recommended.

Before the operation

A medical consultation defines the areas to be treated, assesses the quality of the skin, and verifies the feasibility of the treatment.

This step also enables us to fully understand the patient’s expectations and to provide a realistic, personalized indication.

The intervention

The surgeon precisely marks the areas to be removed.

The fat is then aspirated using fine cannulas inserted under the skin, evenly to avoid any irregularities.

The procedure is meticulous and respects the natural curves of the body or face.

After the operation

A panty or compression garment is worn for 3 to 6 weeks to support healing and promote skin retraction.

Results are visible after a few weeks, but the final result can be appreciated after 3 to 6 months, while the body stabilizes.

At what age is liposuction appropriate?

As soon as localized fatty deposits are well established, often from the age of 25-30, if the skin has good elasticity. It can also be performed at a later stage, depending on skin quality.

Does my health insurance cover the cost of liposuction?

No. As liposuction is considered cosmetic surgery, it is not covered by health insurance.

Is it painful?

Pain is moderate, comparable to aches and pains, and well controlled by simple analgesics.

Swelling, tightness and bruising may persist for a few days, but gradually subside.
